MANSCAN®'s sixth generation software is derived from the world's first combined EEG and MRI research system developed by SAM Technology, Inc. beginning in the mid 1980's. The robust and well-proven algorithms and methods of the research system have been further refined and reprogrammed using advanced object-oriented software engineering technologies including the C++ language, Microsoft Foundation Classes and Microsoft Object Linking and Embedding. These advanced technologies: provide a unified, easy-to-use, point-and-click user interface; facilitate inter-operability with external software applications such as spread sheets, word processors, statistics packages, and slide generation programs; and ensure that the system will be maintained and updated over the years to come.

MANSCAN® software consists of seven data analysis modules represented by the icons below. Click on each icon for a description of the modules.

Electrode Locator- computes the 3-D coordinates of electrodes.
MRI Import- converts MRI image files to MANSCAN® format.
MRI Tool- extracts information from imported MRI data.
Stripchart- displays EEG data and allows editing.
Signal Processor- automatically and quickly processes lagre amounts of data.
Sorter- provides graphical means to categorize data.
Visualizer- displays and helps analyze EEG and MRI data.
